Broc & Steph's Journey

Broc is the rock of the Higginson family - for Steph, Kale (11) and Brin (8), Broc is an active, healthy, engaged and loving father, and a strong, steady and committed husband.
Broc is a leader in the community, an elementary school principal, a mentor, a role model. He is compassionate, kind and caring and has a positive and meaningful impact on everyone he meets. On June 23 Broc was full of energy, life and vitality.
On June 24 Broc was flown by air ambulance to the Calgary Foothills Hospital after suffering a seizure that left him fighting for his life in the ICU.
For 10 days the neurological and neuro-oncology teams tried to stabilize Broc’s condition. He fought pneumonia, ongoing seizures, and experienced slurred speech and delayed motor control. His children were unable to visit due to COVID-19. Steph was alone by his side.
Broc was diagnosed with two brain tumours and is scheduled to return to Calgary for his first surgery on August 6, followed by planned chemo and radiation.
While Broc’s prognosis remains uncertain, there is no question the Higginson family is facing an uncertain and life altering journey.
This go fund me is to honour Broc and his family - to contribute in one of the only ways we can. We can offer thoughts and prayers, but we can also offer contributions that will open the door to seeking alternative forms of care that will help Broc feel more comfortable in his journey. We can offer contributions that will support Broc and his family to enjoy their time together with a reduced financial burden when their thoughts are already heavy enough. We can offer contributions that will assist the family in their travels to and from Calgary. We can offer contributions because we care.
